A big thank you goes out to Sinus211 for picking up my new 550B and other goodies from marcusp323 while he was down at the Puyallup show today. I can't wait to put this to work next week making 9mm. I also brought home a new safe to stash my non hazmat reloading supplies in. Best part is it came with box's of ammo and AR parts. I gave the HST ammo to my brother for helping me bring the thing home.

Cheers bud! Enjoy the new setup and post some pics once you get it up and running.

Stopped by a fave LGS for a brief bit. Turns out they just got in a Ruger LC Carbine in 45ACP. One of the things that caught my eye was the extractor. You can see it in the following vid between 10:20 and about 10:32:

(sorry, I can't seem to embed it at a specific time)

Expensive day today.

Got a root canal.

Picked up my Python.

Paperwork on another gun.

Put a Ruger PC9 on layaway. Could have paid cash... Could have put it on a credit card. But man today was painful to my mouth and wallet.

Got my Glock 21 & 23 back from Glock. Both got a refresh and the 23 got Ameriglo sights on it.

I've got to box up the 629 and send that back to hopefully get the rear sight fixed. If it comes back unfixed I'm using it as a hammer.

Gonna ship it Monday or Tuesday and get a range trip in also.

Cabelas finally came through with my orders from January. The 38's are for my dad, and the 45's are for my brother for their birthdays.

Range report:

I bought I think around 500 targets, NRA B-6 with red bulls eye. But the rest is black. Very black. And my eyes are getting older.

So the G23 got Ameriglo tritium sights. Rear sight is black with 2 dots and front has a bright orange ring around the dot. I have these sights on my G29 and love them.

Old eyes + fresh black rear sight + black target = couldn't see shit.

So I flung some ammo at them. The G21 has old sights with some shiny wear spots and that helped align the sights. But I was lost with the G23.

I mostly went for a function check. Both functioned fine. The new HST .40 went through both the G23 and my current carry G22 without any hiccups.

Ordered a Glock Performance Trigger that is Gen 4 compatible. Not sure what I will install it on. I have Gen 4 22, 23 and Glone Wolf G19 that is partially Gen 4 compatible.

Whatever it goes on I will not carry. So if I put it on my Gen 4 G22 that means my G22 RTF with gills remains my night stand gun and carry gun if I choose not to take the G23.

Might have to buy another Glock. LoL

Yup. Been there.

I use two kinds of targets now for handgun shooting:

- Cheap paper plate with a black spot (Sharpie) in the center.
- My home-printed targets that have four 4-inch circles on them, plus a number at the center of each circle. (Knock-off of NRA pistol qual targets.)

Both of these are easy to see and use. If you want the file for the targets, let me know.

I have several hundred targets that I may or may not have printed with permission at work LoL. I will go back to using those.

This morning I had a thought. I had a Glock 20 Gen 2 that I bought as a package with a G29. The G29 shot naturally accurate for me. The G20 wpupd give me a shotgun pattern. It was me. Others shot that G20 just fine.

Now I've got this G21 and it shoots like any other Glock I own.

Go figure.

NWGunner. Don't worry no new Glocks for me today.... I'll need to make it work with what I've got.

Sent the 629 back to S&W to repair/replace the slanted rear sight.

When boxing it up I noticed that when they replaced the firing pin they must have nicked the frame where the side plates meets it in the back.

I put a not asking if they can fix that too.

This is a lot of effort for a gun that came out of the box messed up and could t even make it through 80 rounds without a misfire.
