Picked up my XDE last night (5 minutes before closing). Ended up getting it for $419 + tax after Vet's discount, $50 sale and $25 off purchase of $100 or more. Just waiting for Sunday when I'm going out to ESC to try it out!

Holly's relative.
LOL he'd find that funny. I might give him a hard time about that.

It's been five days of 1911 pistolsmithing and today we finish our trigger jobs, final fitting of a couple other parts, and then sight in. Tomorrow we do our finish work.

It's been an intense few days of non stop 1911smithing. My only regret is that I didn't hire a note taker. Bob has so much knowledge and is a really great guy. There is a lot of information to glean!

Also, Idaho is B-E-A-UTIFUL! This state has been on my list to visit for the past eight years.

Took the XDE out today and I think I'm going to be very happy with it. The woman I've been helping get ready to qualify for DOC really liked it too and thinks she might buy one (it would be her first FA purchase). She got the call last week and goes back to see if she can qualify Tuesday/Wednesday. She has improved quite a bit and if she shoots like she did today she shouldn't have any problems! :thumbsup2:

I braved the heat to hit the range with SAGELA. We did some load testing, then kicked back to relax and shoot at my steel target at 200 yards.

I brought the Argentine carbine and a Garand for banging steel:

Good day. :thumbsup2:

(By the way, that's a paper target at 100 yards that you see. You can barely see the steel target at 200, to the left of the paper target.)

Ended up winning an auction for a Husqvarna m/40 pistol from Rock Island Auctions to add to the collection. It was a little more than I would typically have considered paying, but when I lived in Sweden I lived in Blekinge County, and the pistol it was issued to the Blekinge Coastal Artillery, so I felt a tiny connection to it. I do miss living there.

I've been on a Swedish kick lately. Just got another m/96 Mauser on Friday, and have a CG-63 on the way.

About the only thing left on my list is a m/94 Swedish Mauser.

Ordered a 308 barrel and bcg from KAK for only 250$ with their discount "4th" (you can only use it once), ordered a Geisele 13" Super Modular Rail MK2 MOD 1 rail which is coming with a free gas block. Now I'm off to find a gas tube and adjustable gas block for the 308 because it's going to host my suppressor

Went to pick up the FNS 9 that was posted here for a smoking deal. Fits my hand really well and I like the sights. Trigger leaves something to be desired but I'm thinking more rounds through it will smooth things out.

Then I saw a Mossberg Shockwave on the wall. Finger fucked it for all of 30seconds and took it home too.
