Dusted off the C&R license and picked this up. An Egyptian Rasheed. Proceed to log it in my book (been 3 years since i last used it!) and field stripped it and lubed it. Also been spending the last couple days moving the reloading bench and assorted firearm stuff from one room to another to allow new flooring to be installed. Also sorting and purging as I go

Waiting for the right deal, but I'm starting to realize that I might just have to pay full price if I want one.

But now, I'm starting to think about cutting down my collection instead of acquiring more.

I have a Hakim, but now I need the better-looking cousin as well. cruffler wrote: But now, I'm starting to think about cutting down my collection instead of acquiring more. Yeah, same here. Let's see which of us gets past the "think about" stage first.

I neck sized the brass, upped the powder from 45 to 46 grains of IMR 4064, and adjusted the bullet seating until it was just off the lands. The groups decreased from about two inches to one inch at 50 yds. Adjusting the bullet seating probably made the biggest difference. Next, out to 100 yds. I also tweaked the front sight a bit to hopefully get the windage perfect.

^ That's good shooting for a 123-year-old rifle, especially with iron sights!

I'm surprised that I was even able to get two inch groups. Maybe the bullet jacket metal is filling in the pits and improving the bore?

Waiting for the right deal, but I'm starting to realize that I might just have to pay full price if I want one. I'd been watching them for awhile and seen the prices slowly start to creep up so I finally decided I just needed to do it. I might pick up a spare stock and refinish the spare to keep the original one in good shape. But probably not as I do like the orginal look too :) The Hakim is actually the other rifle I had ordered. Eventually Ill pick a Ljundman as well to sort of have the "tri-fecta" My collecting is definitely leaning more towards old Mil-Surps and C&R guns now. Pretty much every one I've wanted has gone up in price while modern guns seem to go down in value (to an extent) as they age.
