A redesign of their old. Flat and rounded floors. Rounded one is purported to work as a monopod.

Image

"Offered in two versions, the MK3 is a 30 round, 5.56mm magazine designed specifically to work with the M855A1 EPR. The two models, MK3 FLT30 and MK3 RND30 differ slightly. The FLT prefix denotes a flat floor while the RND designator is for a round floor which is designed to pull double duty as a monopod."

Interesting “monopod.” I wonder how much better it is than a standard magazine bottom.

On a flat hard surface, maybe a little better. In the dirt or the grass, won't matter at all.

I embraced using the mag as a monopoly a while back, and it works extremely well.

Cool innovation. And it seems they're trying to "seal up" the area where the mag meets the magwell. Others have done this too. I would only find value in that if I was out shooting in a sandstorm.

That looks like it would snag on mag pouches

That "chunkiness" in the middle, yeah, I bet it would, now that you mention it.

I have the same problem with the overinsertion tab on the back of gen3 Pmags. I grind them away.

Someone on M4C pointed out, from the website:

"Cleaning - MK3 cleaning is fast and easy. The magazine body is unitized, with no disassembly required or possible. A quick blast with compressed air through the upside-down ported follower clears any small dust or dirt debris inside the body. Carbon coating due to extended suppressor use is easily cleaned with a hot soapy dunk and magazine brush (sold separately), then rinsed and left upside down to dry."

FUCK that noise, would never want.

Surely you jest!

It's the most idiotic thing...a mag you cannot disassemble. Can't believe I missed that before.

And I HAVE even hot-washed A2 lowers in the past....but they belonged to the American Taxpayer.
