So growing up one of my Dad's buddies was a Marine Raider, pacific campaign. He had a lot of stories for a young kid in the deer camps we hung out in. And I learned a lot about shooting and hunting from him. He was all of 90lbs in the Corps and they made him carry the BAR which he preferred. When I asked him what he thought of the M16 and the 223 cartridge I will never forget what he said.
"It's adequate for dropping a coyote, but I'd never trust that shit with a man."
This came from a man who told me he had to stay on the front line with malaria on Bougainville because his fever was only at 103 and they were only evacuating guys with a temperature of 105 and greater. Different times I guess.
