Wrote down all the items I will be buying for my "next rifle".

So far:
1 Ruger Precision Rifle (Caliber to be determined later)

1 Nightforce BEAST scope

1 Atlas Bipod

Extra Magazines

Muzzle Brake

Atlas Monopod

Hard Case (Boyt, Pelican Hardigg Storm.

200 rounds of factory ammo (just for break-in and brass).

Now all I need to do is figure out how to explain to my wife I am about to spend around $7,000 in total (scope is $4k+ in model I want). Then again, I figure that this will be my last rifle purchase so I don't want to "go cheap".

Friday I took a half day at work and headed to Kenmore to sight in some guns that have not had any love since they came into my life :4couple: .

The Ruger American .308 topped with a Vortex Crossfire did amazing. Accuracy was great with cheap ammo. Put the Kestrel on it to to try out a quiet 308, no point of impact change and groups tightened. When I ran some AWS 175gr subs, the damn thing sounded like a bb gun. The first shot I had to check the bore to make sure it was not a squib. I am very impressed with this "inexpensive" gun.

Radical/Northtech 458Socom. Amazing..... Ammo was pretty dirty though. Curious if my hand loads will be cleaner. The recoil was not bad, accuracy was good. GI trigger needs work. Big holes in the paper, made me smile.

PSA 9mm AR (Glock lower). Functioned great and was nice and quiet with the Gemtech can on it but could not get the red dot on paper. 10 rounds fired and I gave up. Will have to try at a pistol range first. I bore sighted it at home but no good.

I have had mixed experiences at Kenmore, but the 2 guys working the rifle range were helpful and personable to everyone there. Happy day indeed. I needed the gun-smoke therapy.

Looked at some Smith's and even some Rugers and Uberti's. We'll see what happens in a couple weeks... :)

Yes, I believe I did. But then again I'm a Senior Citizen and you know how our memory can get.

At least I'm not to the stage where I can hide my own easter eggs though. :wink05: :wink05:

careful the government might decide that you are not capable of handling things and put you on the bad boy list for buying guns.
