Why does cat need to be in legally? I have an 86 GMC 3/4 ton and I ripped all that crap out and ran headers and dual exhaust to just in front of the rear wheels. I'm in University Place/Tacoma/Lakewood with it and no emissions required...

Legally its required in all 50 states.. but since my 84 is no longer emissions tested and there's no inspection in WA State it doesnt bother me to have it removed. And according to some shops its a huge fine to remove it and not put one back in.

and PMB if i thought it wouldnt cost me more in gas to drive it to Vantucky, I would.. lol but at 10-14mpg and the risk of it breaking down on the way is just to great lol
