I have a 350 boat engine that was rebuilt about 2 years ago. I've had issues with it from day one. It had a tick to it from day one and never ran well under a load. Today I pulled the valve covers to check the valve lash.... low and behold 2 exhaust rocker arms were loose. I tried to adjust them but the adjustments bottomed out before all the slack was out. I looked closer and it appears that both valves are stuck open... explains both the ticking and the lack of power. Obviously the warranty is past so I'm going to pull that head tomorrow and I need a good reputable machine shop that can rework that head.

Anybody up north know of a good machine shop that does heads? They are Chevy 350 Vortec heads.
