I have an older (1975) house, but I would like to have a ice maker hook up. Anybody help?

Icemaker tap kit. Pretty easy. Just need to find a cold water pipe off to the side (under sink) or the floor below (water heater input). http://www.truevalue.com//catalog/produ ... ctId=12381

Can we just merge all these threads?
Does this mean you got a fridge and need the water maker hooked up or do you still need both? I'm mostly free next week, it's super easy to run a line for this.

My home in East Oly is from around the same time. I've had great luck with M&M Plumbing.

This Super easy as long as you have decent room in your crawl space.

Are your pipes copper or galvanized? Those saddle taps only work on copper

No previous ice maker hook-up, so I'm guessing there might have to be some weird routing from the sink, behind the stove to the fridge. I don't want the clamp on, I saw on one web site there are self sealing no solder "T" valves.

At my old house I just drilled a hole through the sides of all my cabinets (towards the back), and ran a line inside of all the cabinets to get to the fridge, then hooked up to a new T-Valve under the sink.

That may be the less than a new mortgage way to go.
