I have an older (1975) house, but I would like to have a ice maker hook up. Anybody help?

Icemaker tap kit. Pretty easy.
Just need to find a cold water pipe off to the side (under sink) or the floor below (water heater input).

Can we just merge all these threads?

Does this mean you got a fridge and need the water maker hooked up or do you still need both? I'm mostly free next week, it's super easy to run a line for this.

My home in East Oly is from around the same time. I've had great luck with M&M Plumbing.

This

Super easy as long as you have decent room in your crawl space.

Are your pipes copper or galvanized? Those saddle taps only work on copper

10' with a "L" turn. No crawlspace on the 2nd floor. No previous ice maker hook-up, so I'm guessing there might have to be some weird routing from the sink, behind the stove to the fridge. I don't want the clamp on, I saw on one web site there are self sealing no solder "T" valves.

At my old house I just drilled a hole through the sides of all my cabinets (towards the back), and ran a line inside of all the cabinets to get to the fridge, then hooked up to a new T-Valve under the sink.

That may be the less than a new mortgage way to go.
