I'm in Auburn.
Where would be the best place to have the auto trans fluid changed out?
Prefer staying in the Renton to Tacoma area.

A little north of you, but Renton Transmission on Sunset is good. Pete is a straight shooter, won't try to sell you a bunch of crap or service you don't need or want. Been going there for 30 years +.

Be sure to ask if they're using the approved fluid for the EXCHANGE. Stay away from joints that use one ATF and then put in their own magic additive that "Makes it compliant" with the manufacturer's requirements.

Remember, an "Exchange" requires a machine that replaces old fluid with new fluid while the engine is running. Most shops do a dump and fill by removing the tranny pan only. That does nothing for the other 2/3 of the fluid that's in the converter.

Yep, this is something I'll keep my eye on.
