I have a newly acquired Baofeng UV-82HP and would like to get the thing programmed and loaded up. Anyone close by Auburn with a good cable and maybe RTSystems software? Either that or just use your's as the "host" radio I can clone from.

I could also use a good radio programmer. A recent update to Mac OSX made Chirp incompatible...so I've got radios I can't program.

I can program most Motorola & Baofeng radios, I have the software at my office. I use the stock baofeng software however. If I dont have the cable, you will need to acquire it. I have the one for the Baofeng BF-888s (we use them as event radios at work) I think they are standardized as I have used it to program non-Baofeng radios as well. My office is in South Tacoma, my hours vary but no charge for WGO members who come to me. I don't have a laptop (I ran it over with my jeep, long story ) so I use my desktop at work. I am only familiar with analog stuff but I could be coached for digital or just let you sit down and do it yourself.

I have one with the cable and disc but can't figure it out, and I'm pretty technical. If there's a class put together, put me on the list! I'd love to know how to really use this darn thing I was given for Christmas 2 years ago.

I have a Wouxan and did the programming myself, with a SAR standard file. How different are Baofeng from Wouxans? I would think it's pretty straightforward.
