Talon Grips

Mon Jul 17, 2017 6:29 pm

I just got a set of Talon grips for for my Canik with the granulate texture. The texture is very aggressive, and similar to the Shield 45.
Follow the instructions very carefully. When the backing is removed it seems very sticky. When you start wrapping the grip you will find that it is not as sticky as you think. The key is the hair dryer/heat gun to activate the sticky, and allow it to really mold to the grip. The fit is very good.
:thumbsup2:

I have the rubber talons grips in two of my handguns and love them as well. The talon grips on my Glock have been installed for a few years and have never had any issues peeling or anything. I had the granulated installed, but that really sucks rubbing on your belly when you appendix carry. That shit is rough.

"For years everyone from military personnel to competition shooters have been putting skateboard tape on firearms to change the interface between the hand and the weapon. The downfall of this is that skateboard tape is designed to go on skateboards (wood). Traditional tapes are thick and don’t conform well when wrapped around the handle of a firearm. These tapes will eventually peel off and leave a sticky mess on the firearm."

I've had great experience with these grips before

I think they are great. The granulate texture is awesome for the ultimate in control / competition. For carry however... whoo not so nice with clothes, clothes hang up on them and it prints like a mofo, hurts your skin too.

The rubber texture is better for carry, better than nothing, but doesn't come close to the granulate texture.
