This has nothing to do with WA Cellular.

Several months ago I got an iphone SE from WA Cellular. Took it to the AT&T store in Redmond. After and hour of finger banging and the little Asian gal trying to sell me everything but a set of Ginsu knives I walked out of there with no satisfaction. But she did leave the SIM chip in the phone. I came home called AT&T and after 30 minutes or so they had the phone set and told me to wait 12 hours. Finally a few days later the phone worked.

Fast forward to Monday. Wife's plan with Verizon ran out so time to bring her to AT&T. She ordered an S6 Active. So she goes to same store and they need me to do a bunch of stuff, like authorize her to be on the account. Which I do. No satisfaction. So she comes home a bit steamed, but no card. Frack.

Tuesday she goes back and the store says she needs me to call 611 and "leave a note on the account that accepts the transfer of billing responsibility of her number from Verizon". Except you don't leav a note when you call 611. You talk to an idiot computer or idiot phone jockeys. So anyway the store doesn't get her ported over and she comes home and wow she is steamed. Plus no SIM card. Uggh!

So I call 611.........and I'm steaming.......so the first chair lounger says that the store was wrong and what they were trying to do is change her over to the head of the account. I say well yo better let them know (silence)........then he throws me to sloucher gal who can supposedly ("definitely") help me, but after three people some fucking screen weasel actually starts the process. I give him the pin and other stuff (4th time since on the hook)........and he finds the phone. The SIM card will be sent either the 19th or the 20th or maybe the 21st. Cool about done......"Sir that will be a $150 deposit". What? I'm just adding a line............fck...............I am livid..........he says that he can't add it to the bill, need a CC and after 12 months supposedly get deposit back..........I give in. Done. Hang up. Phone rings.........sir your card address doesn't match the account address................holy shit........wow...........done

So after all this, can't use phone yet. I think I will venture in and see if I can at least get damn deposit back

Yeah well Sprint sucks just as much. My kid broke his phone in December. Went to the Sprint store on 38th for a new one. I was billed for his old phone. Sprint said he didn't turn it in. Fighting for months with these assfucks that we/he gave it to them. Last month I get a certified letter via Fed Ex that says the 38th st Sprint store had found an abandoned cel phone with a serial number tracked back to me. It was found there at the store!!!!!!! No Shit!

You think these assholes would even say they're sorry? Refund all my wasted time on the phone arguing with these people by giving me a month of service free???

Oh fuck no. I got nuthin.

Moved to Reviews. Come on, an old screen weasel like yourself knows better.... :wink05:

That's frickin' brutal. And I believe every word of it, it's amazing how difficult this stuff can get.

HOLY SHIT!

1) When you go to a store, NEVER to to a "Retailer" Store, only go to corporate stores. There are lots of things that Retailers CANNOT DO, but they don't tell you that and fuck up shit along the way.
2) Porting in a number should NEVER be this hard. It's a 2 hour experience, but it should be the most simple thing ever. Also, I prefer to do everything I can, in store (Corporate Store)
3) If they ever ask for a deposit, ask for a waiver. They hand them out often, and can almost ALWAYS do it at the store level by just clicking a button.
4) PM Slipknot95758. He works at an AT&T Corporate store and can work some magic.
5) Sorry man... I hate hearing these stories to prior customers.

The Redmond Town Center store is a corporate store.

Oh sorry. So bad I didn't consider it a review as I am still in rant mode.

While this isn't directly helpful for your situation, it might be for someone else. Rita & I switched over to Google Project Fi about six months ago for our phones. Unless you already have a Project Fi compatible phone, there's an up front cost to pick up a phone that works on their system, but they offer them on two year, no interest loans that they simply add to your monthly bill. Our monthly bill (previously on AT&T) dropped from about $135 (with corporate discount) to about $85 (no discounts). On the two occasions I've had to deal with customer service, the problems were solved in less than half an hour, billing adjusted, or credits issued, whatever it took to make it right. No BS, no run around, no waiting, no having to go to a store, they just take care of it. You can view your account through their app, or online, and easily see & find what you need. Overall, I'm quite pleased with their service & phones. We've had AT&T, Sprint and Verizon (in progressively worse customer experience order), and I'll never ever go back to any of them. The irony is, Project Fi uses Sprint for their CDMA connections and it works great, but I never had good service in Duvall with them.

Plus, ATT put Washington Cellular out of business after 29 years.

Fuck ATT up the ass with a barbed wire wrapped baseball bat lubed with flaming napalm.

I went with T-Mobile - couldn't be happier - unless Dan figures out how to pirate spectrum, and resurrects the company.

:plusone:

Been on Project Fi for a couple of months and it is fantastic. $35.95 per month for unlimited talk & text + 1 gb of data shared between my Pixel phone & iPad tablet. If I use more data, they just bill for the overage next month, no penalties. No paying for a bunch of data every month "just in case".
1/2 the cost of my AT&T plan.
Plus my data and texting is free in 120 countries.

Why the hell wasn't this announcement earlier. We are fully 8 lines in with AT&T now. Too late.
