Ordered one of these off Amazon for $20 shipped.

Quality seems to be pretty good. I like that's it lockable and stackable.

The foam holds mags pretty securely. Steel mags are a bit loose but Pmags, Lancers and Troy's are held tight.

The foam could be spaced closer to hold more mags but it's pretty neat this way. You can fit 2 mags flat behind the first row and 1 in between the others.

I'll probably load up one with 15 AR mags, some pistol mags in between, small cleaning kit and a small trauma kit. 15 loaded AR mags don't weigh much and the other stuff shouldn't be too bad either. Makes for a nice grab and go kit.

I'll buy another.

They say AK mags don't fit, might try later to see.

Standard 50 cal can holds 10 AK mags stacked horizontal, with two laid flat on top. Or, 25 AR mags sitting vertical. They rattle, though.

I thought AR mags can only stand vertically in Fat 50s. I'll test tonight.

Still like these for having a ready to go, lightweight box

Maybe he meant 20-rd AR mags...? I know the 30-rd AR mags are too tall for a standard .50-cal can.

I have two of the other version. They each hold 10 AR mags upright in the foam slots in back and another 10 single/double stack pistol mags in front.

I think I paid 21ish bucks each for mine.

Either version would make a neat little grab and go kit.

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

I'd like to know the weight of that thing loaded.
How much stress on a plastic handle, etc.

I can do that today if I remember after work.

Mine currently has mostly green tips in it but should give you an idea. It's pretty reasonable.
