How do you like the MVP? Considering buying a MVP Varmint and wanted to know accuracy of factory setup?

Gross Misdemeanor , going to be a Felon soon No, perfectly legal. Check the appropriate Regs for firearms being repaired and returned to owner by gunsmith or manufacturer. Nice Steve, sounds like Mossberg has great Customer service.

A Null wrote: yes, I second the vote for insight into how you like the gun This one is the 5.56 LR version: http://www.mossberg.com/product/mvp-lr-rifle-27696/. I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't shot it a whole lot yet, but I did some quick load workup and I got a couple of 0.65MOA 5-shot groups at 100 yards, so that's decent. I thought the trigger was pretty mediocre, so I bought a Timney Trigger for it which is pretty nice. I had a problem with the extractor when I first got it, but I bought some 0.125" ball bearings to replace the ball under the extractor and it started working perfectly. Of course, I lost that when I lost the bolt . . . so it'll be interesting to see if I have trouble with the new extractor/bolt. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it. It's nothing fancy, but it works well.

thanks for the quick review. I've considered one of those flavors in a 308 for a short range hunting gun, (hopefully pig gun!)

Steve, I have the MVP Thunder ranch. I have trouble with extraction on occasion. It seems that if the bolt handle is NOT lifted all the way up, the bolt catches or drags heavily, causing the case mouth to hang up on the edge of the ejection port. Have you encountered this?

I haven't noticed that. I also haven't shot the rifle since I got it back from Mossberg with the new bolt . . . so I'll see how it does, and if I experience what you described.
