I shoot hundreds of rounds and the only issues I had were the shims were moving causing the turret to slip. The other time I noticed my bases had loosened up. Lock tight fixed that. I did notice the mounting screws with my 20 MOA rail allowed play. I switched back to the larger head Savage mounting screws with Red Locktite. No issues since.

Wow, just read this whole thread and didn't realize just how old it was until about 3/4 of the way through.
I typically shoot about once a week if I were to average it out so I feel like I go through a decent amount of ammo. I'm not a re-loader......yet (Cruffler has promised to change that), so all factory rounds of 223/556 or 308.
I have four Vortex optics on various rifles, two of them are Strike Eagles which didn't even exist when this thread was started. I have nothing but extremely positive things to say about Vortex. They offer great glass for the money so every day Joes can afford it (unless it's a Razor). They offer great incentives to the LE and military community. They have one of the best warranty's you can find. I've never had any trouble with my Vortex products so I can't speak to their customer service but I think that is a positive in and of itself.

They now have a 1-8 power Strike Eagle.

I'm hitting the range with 2 new Crossfires and a Viper. Hopefully these past several years from the original post, there was some fixes from Vortex... We'll see later today for mine.
