I ordered a pistol off the internet and had it shipped to LowPriceGuns.

The person helping me went back out of view and returned with my pistol. It was NewInBox (sealed) in the photos from the seller. When it was brought out it was opened. The person then removed the magazine, and tried to move the slide. It won't slide without a magazine in place. Glad he didn't break it by forcing it. He then put the magazine in, and cycled the slide 5 or 6 times. Please stop finger fucking my gun.

Paperwork time. They don't use a computer for the background check. I filled out the form. He then called the number, and proceeded to read all my information over the phone in front of other customers, including my name, address, and social security number. Guess I'm about to experience identity theft.

I'll never go back.

The magazine holds the parts in place. Cycling the action without the magazine in place will cause the springs to bend into the cavity where the magazine is supposed to be.

Are you concerned they (someone at the store) will steal your ID? Or were you concerned that it may have been spoken out loud among shoppers or both?

I'm concerned they read my SSN out loud in front of customers. Along with name, address, birthdate etc etc etc. Basically everything you need to commit fraud.

If you didn't feel comfortable with the way they handled your personal information, I fully agree, don't go back. I would also encourage you to email them and let them know why you won't be a returning customer. So many people make mistakes and never figure out what they did wrong.

My experience at lowpriceguns was fairly professional but overall didn't make me want to use them as a primary source for my needs.

Well, I understand that the FFL needs to handle the gun in order to get the serial number, barrel length, etc.

I also know that it's proper procedure to ensure that the gun is clear before handling the gun, and typically that means dropping the magazine and then opening the slide. It's unfortunate that he didn't know the idiosyncrasy of the Seecamp (I wouldn't have either), but I'm not sure what the right answer would be here in that regard.

There's no problem with paper and phone calls, but I agree that your personal info shouldn't be read out loud in front of other customers.

If you put it down then they're going to read it. In the last 5 years I haven't put that information in there. And did anyone have a pen and paper writing your information down or do you think that they can store that information from just briefly hearing it.

It's also procedure to make sure a gun is clear before handing it over normal step is remove source of possible ammo clear gun.
Not knowing that he tried and then had to cycle the gun with mag to make sure it was clear. I see no fault on the employee of this facility. Just normal operations.

I have run into the counter guy stating my info out loud a few times, and I have asked him to please not to talk as loud as he was. Am I just a bit paranoid? Maybe, but as stated above its uber easy to get someone's info and create a whole messy situation very easily.
