Well, I had a USPS package waiting for me yesterday. I knew it was from V NIVES, but something didn't feel right. That package was large and heavy, almost like they had mailed me a brick . . . .

I opened it up, and here's what I found, the "brick" and also a folding knife:

Image

Inside that white sleeve was a fancy-ass black case with four latches, and inside that was the Altered Beast knife:

That Altered Beast is a big, badass knife with a serious sheath that includes a built-in sharpener:

Y'know, the Altered Beast is pretty impressive, but honestly I'll never use it. What really caught my attention, though, is the folding knife that was also included:

This is the V NIVES Scuff, and I'm pretty enamored with it. It's light, it has a pretty good deep-carry clip, and the blade opening is SWEET. It's not spring-assisted, but the blade is on ball bearings and it opens REALLY easily.

I'm carrying it today . . . gonna see if it can displace the Kershaw Leek. For $35 brand new, it seems like a pretty good deal.

By the way, I saw on Facebook that V NIVES is at the Puyallup gun show this weekend, so if anyone is wandering through you might look for their table.

Really? Can you zoom in on that, or give more information?

I don't know chit. However, I can tell you that it opens and swings very smoothly, noticeably better than my other knives, and the website says "Pivot Type: Ball Bearings":

Would you promise not to hammer it into a bottle opener?

I’m curious about the steel used for the blade. What steel is it?? Sure is a beauty. I’ll check out the site when I get home.

Rec'd my Collectible Ti-Sportster today, #6 of 10.
Great packaging, fantastic knife.
They even included the proper tool for the screws, so if you want to switch the clip to work lefty, you can do it.
Plus extra screws, should one go missing.

Thanks Mike & everyone at V Nives!
