I recently found this site that does medical kits. I purchased the 'MyFAK' Premium for $169 w/ a %10 off code of 'stayalive'

http://www.mymedic.us

Seemed like a pretty comprehensive kit for the money. After I ordered, I received an email with a %20 off code for friends

http://mmrx.myshopify.com/?redeem=58ad4 ... 0018c55cc1

Although as I open the email to copy/paste the link, it's says $10... Confusing.

Here's another link/code they sent for $20 (actual claim of $20 off)

http://mmrx.myshopify.com/?redeem=58ad4 ... 001299b5c9

Any other feedback or thoughts on the product would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Celox if you do any kind of shooting sport is a must. It looks like a pretty good place to start.

I am no expert, but in mine I have Combat Gauze instead of Celox. I have two chest seals since what goes in might come out the other side, and if you are going to need chest seals you might want to have the right needle for needle decompression. Nice it has an Nasal airway, burn gel, and couple of the other things. IMHO

This the needle you are referring to? I see it's only $10, that seems pretty reasonable.

And chest seals are 2/ea for entry and exit wounds. Cool.

cool thanks. Looks like a great first responder kit set up. Just keeping someone alive until EMS arrives is the goal.

So I received my medical kit today. I'll try to do a good job of writing this up.

First impressions when I saw the shipping box, it's smaller than I figured. Which played right into one of my fears. A bunch of stuff crammed into a package. Then, the first time you need something in it, you have stuff strewn about and a hell of a time trying to put everything back inside. I don't believe that fear is warranted in this case. As I open the bag, it's pretty well laid out and organized. There are a few things I plan to add/replace and it looks to have ample room for additions.

The Bag: Loaded (as shipped) weighs in at 2lb 15oz and seems to be well constructed with good material. Measures out to 8" tall 7" wide 6" deep and stretches out to 24" opened.
Outside panel is Velcro webbing. The "My Medic" tag is a Velcro tag and easily removed. The Molle webbing on the back is a Velcro panel and is also easily removed. It has a compression type strap and buckle that could double as a belt. In the website photos you will see it strapped to the headrest of a car seat. Molle panel D rings are metal and zippers and stitching seem good quality.

The Contents: All seem to be quality product. Well organized and easily accessible. I will be changing out some of the mess and adding a few. There will be plenty of room. I also intend to add some butterfly closures, as there are not any included. Just band-aids. I would like to add an epi-pen and this company offers many additional items for sale individually. I see they offer a staple closure tool with 35 staples for $22 and a chest decompression needle kit for $10 ditching the glow stick, rape whistle and paracord should give me plenty of room and still leave room for additional items I won't think of til the last minute or trip specific. Space blanket for hiking or off-road ing excursions etc...

Overall, I'm happy with it. Price with the 'stayalive' code I mentioned in first post was $152.96 and only $3.99 in shipping. Ref. Price was $169.95. Ordered 2/22 and received 2/27

Contents can be found listed on the website in first post. I didn't want to go into detail on info that was readily available and I didn't want to pull the bag apart.

Coupon codes I listed look to expire 3/23

Any questions or comments appreciated. Thanks Guys!

Got my Decompression Needle kit and Skin Stapler w/35 Staples today.

Stapler $21.99
Decomp. Needle $9.95

Less 10% Discount

$3.99 S&H

Total = $32.74

5 day turnaround. This outfit continues to deliver.

Added pieces do fit the kit described above, although the Stapler, in its sealed package is a bit of a challenge.

It looks like your kit is growing beyond what an IFAK is intended to address but less than what a more substantial trauma/first aid kit needs.

An IFAK is intended for immediate aid and should only include about a dozen items. That's it. The pouch that holds those items should be designed to be a bit of a yard sale when opened. Things shouldn't go flying but they need to be instantly accessible. Digging through a pile of lip balm, paracord, and motrin is the last thing you want when dealing with an immediate need.

As a second line, or sustaining first aid kit, I'd want much more substantial supplies. If it comes time to use a CPR mask I want something like a Laerdal pocket mask, which would take up half of your pouch. If I'm going to suture/staples something I would really like an irrigation syringe and more fluids to flush it out before I stitch it closed. Big ass shears are great for getting someone naked in a hurry, not so much for cutting little bandages for a complex application. Not sure if the surgical scissors fill this role or if the are too small. Celox granules are fine, but if it gets to a point where you need to sprinkle the magic pixie dust you probably also need to be packing a wound. There are other products for wound packing that have a hemostatic agent in them that would be a much better choice.

This kit might fill a niche for what you need and that's great. It looks like it has a little bit of everything. It's just in between trauma levels and I'm not sure what they were going for.
