It says this under add to cart: "In Stock Online Usually leaves warehouse in 1-2 business days." But when you click on Add to Cart, this pops up: "Sorry, we just ran out of REMINGTON 9MM LUGER RANGE BUCKET 350RD:9mm Luger:115 Grain Weight. Please add a different item to your cart."

Well, let me tell you about my Academy Sports experience. I went against better judgement and budget and put some of that 9mm in my cart, after having first taken advantage of the ActiveJunky deal posted by Updogg. So I followed the link back to Academy through the Activejunky website and hooked up the extra 4% discount that way...
entered all the pertinent info and the credit card... and the transaction hung up. Just sat there spinning and not going through. So I chatted with Academy's CS and they said try this that and the next thing for the next HOUR> (I had nothing else to do) and finally the guy from Acadaemy gets me on the phone for easier communication and says he can push it through "manually" if I'd like. BUT he says I don't know what will happen to the AJ discount if I do.
So I let him go through with it saying I will take it up with AJ and see what they'll do for me. So I give him all the same information that I'd given to the computer online and he makes it go through.....hmmmm. He asks me to hang on to see if he can get a discount code from his boss and we wait about another 15 minutes for one of the stuporvisors to answer his call but they never do. So I sign off...
So I get on-line to AJ and plead my case: "I followed the link from your site, but they had computer difficulties...blah blah... here's the transaction # etc. can you do me a solid?" Thinking this is really an issue between them and their member vendors... shouldn't be a problem, right?
AJ tells me to pound sand. So I tell them to eat a dick and cancel my membership (sorry updogg) since it didn't earn me any $$ anyway and since it seems as if they don't actually do any customer service. (They were very efficient at closing the account... go figure)
So I stew on that a while and then I get on the horn with Academy again and say its been eating at me that this has happened, and the lady says "James, lemme send a coupon for 15% off your next purchase." I say, well I went off budget (damn you MaPi!!!) to get this so I probably won't use it before it expires", and that I just wanted to blow off steam about the fracking website screwing up..... She tells me that it won't ever expire! So I thank her and sign off... but then, when she signs off, she says "Have a good evening Matthewl!". And I'm thinking: "Matthew?!" You've been calling me James, my real name, for fifteen minutes! Where did THAT come from? - anh... whatever, she probably talks to about a million people a day... but my name is in type all over that chat session...whatever...
EDIT: Here's her sign off to me where she calls me James and Matthew in the same sentence: "[11:24:13 AM]Amber B.: James , I do want to thank you for chatting in with us today here at Academy Sports + Outdoors. We do appreciate your business, you have yourself a wonderful day, Matthew ."
... then Deloitte pipes up about the .45 and I'm thinking wow FIFTEEN percent off and the rebate... I can eat dirt for a few weeks if I have to because that's just insanely cheap for .45!
So I sign on, puts the .45 in my cart and load the discount code and my CC# and....... the transaction hangs!!! So.....
I get on the chat assistance again, only this time I'm like 138th in line so I have to wait (after ardy spending 20 minutes trying to get the transaction to go through via automated ordering)... so now the computer is telling me that the average wait time is about 9 minutes, when I've ardy been waiting twenty and I'm watching my place in the queue bounce from 2nd to 4th and back to 2nd again when it starts hitting 1st...and then back to 2nd... and back to 1st.... and then the session TIMES OUT!!!!
So I jump back in the queue, since all I'm doing is reading my book and it's not like I'm standing outside in the rain or something... and my place in the queue starts counting down for the next fifteen minutes until the session times out AGAIN!!!! grrrrr. Well, I'm into this transaction for an hour or so, so I persevere and I CALL customer service and speak with a nice lady who takes my name and enters the order over the phone WITH the Academy discount. We say our goodbyes.... and she says "Thanks for the order, Briain"....
For those who don't know me, my name is James.... Says so on the credit card info I gave to her....
Get the confirmation for the order of the .45 and it says it will be shipped to me, Briain, < yeah.... "Briain" with an extra "I".... the next few days...
so I get confirmation that it's shipped, but as of this morning, the order for 9mm doesn't say "shipped" only that the order was accepted.
We'll see if "Briain" gets any .45
