Funny, they don’t actually say what the grocery tax rate is, just that they cut it…nor do they mention that there’s a state income tax…

Instead of penalizing people that don't store their guns safely like a lot of states, OK wants to incentivize safe storage.

"Starting from the tax year 2025, House Bill 3427 proposes to provide a tax credit equal to 50% of the purchase price of a gun safe or other qualified lockable storage device, up to a maximum of $1,000."

State is 4.5%, but this doesn't affect the local taxes which is about another 5.5% here in Lawton.

Quote:

URGENT: The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed sound-money bill HB 3027 by an 81-10 vote. This important bill, would takes a major step toward adhering to the U.S. Constitution’s monetary provisions, now heads to the state Senate for consideration. Please contact your state senator, and urge him or her to support HB 3027, and contact both your representative and senator in favor of the other sound-money bills that have been introduced.

Members of the Oklahoma Legislature are seeking to enact legislation helping restore sound money and enforce the U.S. Constitution’s monetary provisions.

Senate Bill 816 (SB 816) and Senate Bill 1351 (SB 1351) are respectively sponsored by Senators Nathan Dahm (R-Tulsa) and David Bullard (R-Durant). If enacted, they would create a state bullion depository, which would store precious metals — both held by the state and by private citizens.

Additionally, Senate Bill 1507 (SB 1507) and House Bill 3027 (HB 3027), respectively sponsored by Senator Shane Jett (R-Tecumseh) and Representative Cody Maynard (R-Durant), would abolish capital-gains taxes on gold and silver and clarify the legal definition of precious metals as legal tender, making it easier to use gold and silver as currency in Oklahoma. (In February 2024, HB 3027 was passed out of committee.)

Senate Bill 2030 (SB 2030), sponsored by Senator Dusty Deevers (R-Elgin), would require the Oklahoma state treasurer to work to allow Oklahoma residents to use Texas’ bullion depository.

These bills are great steps toward enforcing the Constitution’s monetary provisions. Article I, Section 10, of the U.S. Constitution plainly states that “No State shall…make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.” It’s long overdue that states begin to enforce this provision once again.

Additionally, these bills are an important step toward nullifying the unconstitutional Federal Reserve, which has a monopoly on money, and also reducing Oklahoma’s financial dependence on the federal government. It will also help Oklahoma avoid the federal government’s planned “Central Bank Digital Currencies,” which severely threaten privacy and individual freedom.

Article VI of the U.S. Constitution obligates state officials to uphold the Constitution and nullify all laws not “made in Pursuance” of it. Officials at all levels of government must push back against the federal government’s many unconstitutional laws and agencies, and robustly enforce the Constitution and only those laws “made in Pursuance thereof.” SB 816, SB 1351, HB 3027, SB 1507, and SB 2030 are great models for other states to follow.

Urge your state representative and senator to support SB 816, SB 1351, HB 3027, SB 1507, and SB 2030, and to fully restore sound money in Oklahoma.

Was it all plastic? Or what?

"LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - A Lawton man is accused of assaulting someone with a 3D printed gun.

38-year-old Matthew Palmer faces a single felony count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, which carries a maximum punishment of up to 10 years in prison.

Court documents allege that on Wednesday, April 10, investigators were called out to Southwest 14th Street in Lawton on reports of a shooting. They found a victim with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, and witnesses identified Palmer as the alleged shooter.

According to court documents, Palmer admitted to shooting the man point-blank over a dispute.

No information was given on how he was able to get a hold of the 3D printed 22-caliber firearm.

He’s in jail on a $10,000 dollar bond.

We got numerous warnings of doom and gloom (rain/wind/hail/tornados/etc), but we just got a bit of rain. I had the generator ready and all my battery stuff charged up. Didn't lose power for even a second. But we lost two in Holdenville from tornados about 2 hours east.
