Bottom line = When democrats make a mistake and apologize for it, either nothing happens or they get promoted.

Meh. I don't think it was a good thing, as it's highly unlikely that the boss had anything to do with it unless you just want to say, "he should have had foolproof processes in place," which I think is a bit of a cop-out.

Our society seems to have a burning need to assign blame every time something goes wrong, and make someone PAY. In this case, if it was intentional or somebody was acting irresponsibly, then yeah, let's make them pay. However, we need to recognize that mistakes get made, we're all human, and sometimes you just need to grit your teeth and accept that someone fucked up and they feel bad about it.

I'm sure that Hawaii will be flooded with fact-finding missions, after-action reviews, and a million boring workshops in the coming days. Let's let them do their thing.
