Well I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have no idea how it will affect me.

What's the skinny on it?

Since I moved away from Seattle my property tax and interest deductions dropped substantially. The new $24,000 deduction will give me a lot more and I won’t have to itemize on my taxes. One page and done. It’s a big win for me.

Tax brackets have bigger intervals and lower percentages, child credit is doubled to 2000, standard deduction is doubled, personal exemptions are removed, lower caps on mortgage interest deduction, local tax deduction capped at 10000, estate tax lowered.

Everyone who's been paying attention should be voting positive. Why?

TRILLIONS of dollars held by corporations overseas will come flooding back in to the USA. It will be the largest cash infusion into our economy we will ever see.

We'll see. I am not betting on overseas money coming back.

Lower mortgage interest deductions. I wonder who’s going to be affected by that ...

Obummer Care mandate gone.

Fuck you telling me I have to buy insurance I can't afford nor need and fining me for it.

I'm coming out nearly $2700 ahead.

And Chucky Schumeturd nearly had a nervous breakdown. So it's a win win.

You guys might enjoy this. Chuck Schumer having a bad day. Our dear Patty Murray behind looking like an asteroid is going to impact Washington anytime

Serious stuff indeed. Thriving corporations might actually hire people for a change meaning they would have to work instead of collect a government check. Terrible news for America indeed :ROFLMAO:

My coworker and I got into a debate on the new tax plan. He was convinced the plan only benefited the rich and taxed the poor. At the time he was upset that he would not be able to deduct interest from his $800k house he was planning on buying, He also said he could afford to lose the $5k earnest money if he did some sort of high risk buy, but he opted out of that. The look on his face when I pointed out that if he can afford to loose $5k, then he could afford to pay the extra taxes on his home. While someone like me who couldn't afford to lose $5k, needed every penny that I would save from this new tax plan. Then he proceeded to tell me how selfish I was for not wanting to pay more taxes for social programs and universal healthcare. Oh the irony.

I am self employed so who the heck knows at this point.

However, I do know that if baby Chuckie is peeing himself over this, it has to be good for the country overall. And Patty Murray's face.....priceless. The face that launched a thousand longer faces. :thumbsup2:

Here a page to help you figure it out.
http://taxplancalculator.com/

I'll save a couple grand.

My question though is about health insurance. They got rid of the mandate forcing you to buy insurance, or be fined. Is the requirement for pre-existing conditions still in place? Because it's sounding like I can cancel my health insurance, and then if something bad happens, just buy some.
