Kershaw Leek with a half-serrated blade. I keep buying other knives to try, and I keep coming back to the Leek. It’s easy to open, slim in my pocket, and unobtrusive in all-black. Buy the “seconds” for $25-30, and you’re golden.
And yes, it’s a self-defense tool but realistically 100% of its work is opening packages, cutting zip ties and digging out splinters.
Try a SOG twitch 2 if you haven't already. In my experience, it's less brittle. I broke a bunch of leeks. Haven't broken a twitch.

I have had more expensive knives years but after losing them I figured I'd go with the cheaper knife. I now use a Kershaw filter that came razor sharp right out of the box and is heavy enough that it makes my fist more lethal.... lol

I had one . . . I tried it, gave it away and went back to the Leek.
I've only had two issues with Leeks:
1) I hate the safety on them. I catches accidentally and prevents me from deploying the blade. I remove the safety before I carry one. 2) I had one where the assist spring broke, so I need to flip it open. Of course, I spent a lot of time clicking it open and closed while sitting on the couch watching TV, so that might have been more of a user abuse issue . . . .
Kershaw Leek for me, with the WaGuns logo engraving. Every once in a while I stop in at the Centralia gun show and have my good friends at Wickedly Sharp & Bright, LLC put a new edge on it for me. www.WickedEdgeUSA.com. Stop in and say Hi to Lenny and John. Good folks. And I swear, my Kershaw is sharper now than it's ever been.

...How, exactly, is one to carry a knife in your hand all day long?
I'm not challenging you, I'm intrigued.
It is part of the class. 1-2 weeks of the class then you carry the knife in your hand for 3-4 months. The concept is to make it a natural part of your daily activities.
Geez, there's a name I haven't heard in a long time, lol. He was in a few seminars I took up in Tulsa probably about 15 years ago. He's been a Sayoc trainer for at least that long.
I used to cary a Leek for a few years and now I'm carrying the Cryo II. So you guys carrying auto's, I take it you're LEO/Military or am I interpreting the state rules wrong... or is this one of those don't ask, don't tell unless asked on WAGuns kinda things?

I was told by a manufacture that having it as a collector was not against the law. He was not a lawyer and I am not a lawyer. I assume those who state they have one are legal to own it. While we have at least one lawyer here, I would not take legal advise from here.
