Probably because many of these people have been so vocal about the transgressions of others.
Some are authority figures. Some trusted sources of information... some are or were role models. It's a modern day tragedy (the true meaning of the word; a fall from virtue) and the cast of it has become so widespread. Apparently there is a movement among democrats now to convince Franken to change his mind and not resign after all, which is what many suspected would happen when Franken initially announced his intent to resign but to have such a long, drawn out timeline for actually doing it.

I am still of the mind that a lot of people are being figuratively lynched based on shaky evidence, on both sides.
Accusations do not equal guilt. I do not think that the solution should be a French Revolution Styled "Reign of Terror" in which accusations end up being treated as The Truth because "Why would she lie?" The solution to this is to teach our daughters (and sons) how to stand up for and protect themselves. |
