Am I missing anything? So many red flags on this one. It is no mystery that the official systems failed on multiple levels including the military, the legal system, and our current mental health system. You forgot the recent threats made towards the mother in law. That was a member of that church.... Really? So much for this being a random shooting then....he knew some of the Parishioners.

His ex in-laws family goes to that church. That was his primary motivation ... beside the batshit crazyness.

Its funny that,,, when its a shooting of rage/love/DV/normal ol angry kinda stuff,,,,
We know the shooters name, history, motive, all parties involved, interviews with REAL people, etc. No questions left unanswered really at all.
But when a shooting happens in a city where EVERYTHING is on camera, we dont know NOTHING??

But when a shooting happens in a city where EVERYTHING is on camera, we dont know NOTHING?? I am from a small town just north of Sutherland and the reason so much is known is because small town folks are nosey as fuck. There ain’t shit else to do but gossip and pry into other folks business. In big cities people live next to someone for 20 years and don’t even know their first name. I prefer somewhere in the middle.

I think the point is that in a tiny town in Texas there is now video of the shooting, (No, i won't watch it) yet in Vegas, where there are Camera's EVERYWHERE, we have not seen a single Video of the shooter from the Hotel interior or elsewhere. Just seems odd to me.

It is the FBI's job anyway to do those kind of background checks. I was never in the military so I can not speak for the changes that need to happen there. Mental institutions need to be held legally liable for escaped patients in or out of state. The faculty should have contacted law enforcement and he should have been extradited for that specific purpose back to the funny farm.Extradition laws should include those that have been legally committed.

I read an article that said he was caught after his escape and taken back to the institution. I never heard when/how/why he was released at a later time.
