5" of rain, and gust to 55 mph forecast for next couple days here, so I brought my equipment down off the hill, from my back 40, down closer to the house. I love running diesel equipment in my forest. lawn and garden tools for real men! I reclaimed about a mile of roads, built a rifle range with the help of Olydemon, installed a bunch of culverts, and had a blast cutting over ten cord of wood. That's the short list. When winter comes,(we get over 100" of rain a year) the equipment just tears everything up, so I bring it down and park it until spring every year. Here's a quick glimpse of some of my road work coming down to the house.

Then the tide lands,(mud, oysters), which go to extreme low tide for another about 100 acres. It's an old homestead that was acquired by the Johnson family in 1892 from the federal government. The deed was signed by President Benjamin Harrison. I was the next owner, buying it from the grandson who was in his eighties. He was born here. It's enough land to live off of if you had to.
