Are any of these works of art being sold yet, or are you amassing a massive bottle opener collection?
I've given a bunch away to friends and family. I gave my wife a bunch of stuff for her to sell at a craft show, she sold one blacksmith cross (but she sold over $500 of her own crafts).
I did this tonight..... big bottle opener, a new hook, and a tree made from bike fork springs (challenge from wife to make something she saw).
I got one from him and it's the best bottle opener I've ever used.
Thanks man! Means a lot to hear that. I did weld up those cables, but still haven't had the time to get them going. I think I want to build a larger 2 burner forge, or maybe even a coal forge to get to welding temps easier. My current forge lining started as 1" wool, but I think that's compacted now. I get plenty hot for what I've been doing, but not sure I can get to weld temp yet.
You should take a look at Tincanbandit's latest blog post of Uncle Pimpy's work. If you could do some things like that I bet all the guys here at WaGuns would be BEGGING you for commissioned work. Even if you don't, you might get some cool ideas you could use in your hobby.

Dunno yet. He said he thinks it's about 100 lbs. And old.
That's awesome. We have an antique shop by my house. They have a sweet 300lb trenton, I just can't stomach over $1200.... even though its a good proce at around $4 a lb.
I am involuntarily banned from WaGuns for a month by my computer, and I come back to a letter opener? !
Get cracking on our forging hammer!
Haha Love that old file. Did you happen to look up what the style of file is called? I have seen that shape in Swiss Pattern files, but never in a big one. Pretty cool.

Sorry Didnt see your question about the file. Never looked it up... maybe I should...
So hows this? Make up for the letter opener?.... First forge welded Mini Hawk....
Looks rugged. Has that gritty, worn and solid look that bespeaks a lifetime of hard work. Just be sure to wash those hands if the other one looks the same way before eating. That mini hawk piece looks pretty rugged too.
Looks like a folded and forge-welded wood rasp... ? Have any pics of the actual metalworking?
A pic from my shop... The Balrog is teaching me how to operate the shaper.

Any chance you'd build a custom piece for the WAGuns Birthday coming up next month??
