NICE! Glad to hear you are on the mend! I wonder how many reloads you can get done in 12 weeks? Need us to come bring a BB gun or something?

Don't laugh. I actually considered buying an Air Rifle when I heard I would be out of the shooting world for 3-4 month..

Instead I may get a .17 MMR. I caught the Savage bug with my 6.5 Creedmoor so I'll probably get one of those. That or buy/build a .204 Ruger.

BTW, to let you know where I am in my Rehab, between my daughter and I, we got some more Bacon (English Style and regular) into the smoker about noon. Smoke all night using a cold smoke pellet tray then turn the smoker on in the morning fro a cook.

I figure that since my diet is Low Fat/Low Sodium just eat the lean from the "Rashers" and make sure I only eat one instead of a plate full.

As I said in an earlier post, Bacon is NOT negotiable. :patriot:

I've had two surgeries. Everything in moderation, and stay active. Breath deep when you can, especially after surgery and during recovery. Will help prevent pneumonia. Listen to your doctors too, and don't overdue it while you are healing. It's tough being a guy in these situations, and you feel like you can take on the world, or you want to just tough it out and 'man up,' but it's best to take things easy. Don't hesitate to message me if you have questions.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm healing well. Up and around and as long as I don't have to lift or reach I can do a lot for myself.

Went up to Benchmark and picked up my new barrel (Son had to drive me) and will be putting my latest project together over the next week or so.

A brand new barrel for my .308 only instead of 5 lands and grooves, there are only TWO. Looking down that barrel it's as smooth as the inside of a highly polished hydraulic cylinder with only two lands to spin the bullet. Expect this barrel to be faster than than an auctioneers chant with the reduced friction.

According to both owners at Benchmark the 2- groove 30 cal barrels they are now making "shoot like a dream" with both speed and accuracy.

Something to look forward to , load development and some long range challenges.

Thanks all for your best wishes. I've learned from this experience. Pay attention to diet and exercise. Don't dismiss any chest pains, and if your Doctor doesn't seem too concerned, push him for a Cardiac Workup. I was lucky as my heart attack was, as the Cardiologist said, mild. It did uncover the fact that I had 4 Coronary Arteries blocked. Coronary Artery Disease took my dad's life when he was 58 so pay attention to family history.

For now

Mike

That's a heck of a discovery. icon_eek

Thanks for the update, Mike. Keep up the good recovery.

That .308 barrel sounds like it will be interesting to work with. Let us know how it goes!

Good to hear Mike, glad you are on the mend. Best wishes for full recovery and returning to action... The new 308 barrel sounds like a fun project with break-in and load development. Keep us posted.
