When I lived in Missoula, those were the best!

Another great thing they have going there is guns that are built in Montana, for sale in Montana, don't have shit all for paperwork on them- Montana Firearms Freedom Act of 2009- "The law declares that firearms manufactured in the state of Montana after October 1, 2009, and which remain in the state, are exempt from United States federal firearms regulations, provided that these items are clearly stamped "Made in Montana" on a central metallic part."

"Montana has state preemption of most firearms laws. Local units of government may not prohibit, register, tax, license, or regulate the purchase, sale or other transfer, ownership, possession, transportation, use, or unconcealed carrying of any weapon"- this includes weapons in the car, since their law states to be concealed it must be on your personal and partially or fully covered by clothing.

This is part of the reason I will eventually be moving back, and why we need to convince their law makers to move here and fix our mess!

Reminds me of the old joke:

"In Arizona , he'd be called "an avid gun collector."

"In Arkansas , he'd be called "a novice gun collector."

"In Utah , he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.”

"In Kansas, he'd be "A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend."

"In Montana , he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy.”

"In Alabama , he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate."

"In Georgia , he'd be called "an eligible bachelor."

"In North Carolina , Virginia , Mississippi , and South Carolina he would be called "a deer hunting buddy."

"….And in Texas he's just: "Bubba, who's a little short on ammo."

I'd love to move back there. I left when the paper mill, in Frenchtown, shut down in Oct. 2001, to find a job that paid close to what I was making there.

Looks normal for Montana.
We owned a 30 acre ranch back in Ennis that we *were* going to retire on. In the town of Ennis, that's where the film crew and actors/actresses stayed during the filming of Gunsmoke in the nearby town of Virginia City, which is still decked out in traditional 1800's style.

At the Long Branch Saloon in Ennis, sitting at the bar on the 4th of July, a rider came in, riding his horse, strutted around in the bar, ducked and went back out. (Yes, the door was tall enough for man on horseback)

Funny chit!
