And that is partially correct/incorrect. For sure, non-excreters and purine over producers can have a flare and long term worse if the diet is not proper (higher purine foods). But some folks could eat the same foods their entire life and be fine.

I have been putting apple cider vinegar in my drinking water to alkalize my system. It really works well. I wonder if that could help alkalize the uric acid in your body. Apple cider vinegar is the only vinegar that acts alkaline when you drink it with water.

Braggs. I add two capfuls per 32oz of H2o. Really helps with acidy stomach from coffee. Really has helped my digestion too.

I've had gout attacks when my uric acid levels were normal.
Think it takes awhile for the uric acid to deposit in the joints.

Colchicine gives me the shits and can upset your stomach..............
But If you can tolerate it, nothing works better to reverse a bad attack.
Talking hours, not days. Always make sure I bring some when I go out of town.
Not worth going to an ER to get more.

Indomethacin helps but with colchicine all I need is a couple Naproxyn and then it's gone.

To the poster above, if colchicine got rid of it, it was gout.

This is the longest episode of my life right here. I am basically vegetarian right now. Feeling better though. Too chicken to post my recipe for meatless chili but it was very tasty. Need to lose 15 pounds.

Had a gout flare last Friday.
Took 3 Colchicine, pain gone in 3 hours, took 2 Naproxyn.
But it did give me a stomach ache and I had to take a nap.

Went to a lunch at The Boat Shed in Bremerton Sunday, head and arm got really sunburned.
Colchicine can exacerbate sunburns 'while in your system'.

Next big flare I'm trying the newer form of cholchicine.

Right now it's battle of crystals and elevated urate levels. Need to do a blood and 24 pee test again soon. Really all about flushing me out and getting back level. Funny thing right now, seems like good ester C, lots of water, water with AC vinegar, etc are helping, but it is slow. Indeed the crystal have been building for awhile.

It's probably what you are already taking. Maybe came out around 7 years ago. The history goes way way back, but all I know is I took the "uncontrolled" version in 2001 or so and got quite sick and still had the gout. It was junk. New product is good, from all reports.

I admire your holistic and medicinal approach towards healing your condition Pablo. Keep at it and you'll win. Because knowing is half the battle.
