5W LED.. 3W led.. bullshit.. Most are using 1W LEDs that are slightly overdriven, it's how prices have come down so much...
Lumen ratings, even MORE BS....
The chip is rated MAX lumens, and that varies chip to chip, bin to bin, and doesn't take into account optics focusing light, etc.. So the fact that 1 emitter is MAX 1000 lumens, and all the sudden you have 20 so OMGZ 20,000 LUMENS! That's not how any of this works....
For comparison, the average conventional headlight is between 800 and 900 lumens....
Anything without optics, or with shitty optics, is gonna blast that light all over place. Even the 'spot' versions of lights with no optics will work more as flood than spot....
as far as the china bars go... There are only a handful of manufacturers and they're relabelling and making slight tweaks for each customer... Almost afraid to ask your opinion of these. https://www.amazon.com/Northpole-Light- ... TX34A&th=1Are you putting them on a tractor? If no, then..... No.. :-p https://www.amazon.com/ICOCO-CREE-LED-L ... 06WGPYJ88/ would be a better option... If you're only using them off road, or are OK with floody lights..... https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Flood-Li ... B0185PZOHUThose are too large. This one would probably fit. But it's only 18w: https://www.amazon.com/ICOCO-CREE-LED-L ... K25C/?th=1

Again, ignore the wattage/lumen rating.. It's BS.. I had those '18W' ones, they put out a ton of light.... as do most LED lights... They will be about as bright as your headlight....

I'm not quite sure what the point is of those light bars are except offroad. It's my understanding they aren't legal for Highway use, and it seems most put them on for "looks".
I considered a 24" bar that sits within my 2016 Colorado Z71 grill, but i just don't spend enough time on logging roads at night to bother.
YMMV.

Well that's the whole point. It's pretty dark at deer and and elk camp.
I must admit, I'm feeling pretty upgraded already having real fog lights now. One night during deer camp last year on my way back to camp, I couldn't see the ground. It was that foggy. One night fishranger roles up to my camp and I thought the sun had come up at 9pm. Lots of LED lights.

YMMV. I drive a lot, averaging about 1k miles a week... Mostly to eastern Washington, and rural Oregon. That means long stretches of road, usually no/few vehicles, no street lights, and deer/elk... Even a basic 24" light bar will open up a world of light to you.... A lot of assholes put them on and drive with them on, not realizing or not caring that they're blinding everyone.. Quote: I must admit, I'm feeling pretty upgraded already having real fog lights now. They make LED replacements which should give you a lot more light.... You can still go the 3000K HID route as well, which will give you yellow light and brightness.....at the cost of reliability.... Quote: I'm thinking something more integrated looking with my stock setup until, if, i change up the front trim. Single row bar.... at only 1.5" tall, they'll fit just about anywhere... I'm using the older model of this with 4D lenses.... https://www.amazon.com/V-SPEC-200w-Sing ... 01N7GKP03/They're cheap enough you can buy them, see how you like them, and if you don't like them, toss them on CL for what you paid for them (if not more)...

The first thing I spent money on when we moved was replacing all the light bulbs with LED. Dr. says my eyes are fine but, I like all this crazy bright 5000K light in the house. The kitchen is about 20x8 and I've got 4 60w replacement LED in here. In other words, I'm down with LED and you're right. I think that may be the route for me.
For a lightbar, I'm thinking of something that doesn't require holes being drilled. I may just have a career ahead of me as a Disney Imangineer.

I've used it a few times on certain sections of snoqualmie and eastern wa heading thur Yakima. Using em on the road when someone coming is illegal and is like using your high beams. dreadi if you do go with cree or rigid they make yellow lens caps you can pop on and off for snow driving. now which one would you drive in?? - Spoiler: show
- my highs..
or - Spoiler: show
- light bar...

I think I need that lightbar with a Lariat that has the full moon roof if I get to the point where I'm a disabled hunter. Just stand up in the cab and shoot out the roof.

The trick is to drill the holes where no one sees them if it gets removed. When you're free I can swing by and show you what I'm talking about...
