I relicensed my truck in early January and didn't notice anything but I did notice it in my Property tax bill...

Who got hosed and by how much?

Everyone gets boot fucked at least $500.00 per year or much more property taxes wise.

Everyone will see car tabs go up double to triple price, to start.

Sound Transit needs a billion dollars a mile to build out a transit system - that will serve 65 - 75,000 riders per day, period.

Lot of fucking money stolen legally that ain't going into reducing traffic in King County in any meaningful way - ever.

And they call the drug cartels criminals.......................

Actually the property tax was only $25 per 100K in value. For years my property taxes went up between 10 & 15% every year but this year it only increased by 6%. The car tabs really fucked the people!!! It equals your old cost PLUS $80 per 10K in value and DOL says what your car is worth!!! The people who really got fucked were the people who enjoy the freedom of their cars and would never ride the damn transit in the 1st place!!!

I have considered registering elsewhere but the thought of being charged with fraud is a deterrent.
Interesting, I was under the impression that Snohomish county residents got the same tax increase...

It's only part of snohomish that is under the st3 tax increase.

I don't think it's fraud, i think st3 is a fuckery and unfair.
I don't use the bus, i don't live in Seattle, i can care less about bellevue getting a train station so why should i pay for it when my commute is between kirkland and lake stevens?
it's wherever sound transit has service, no bus=no additional dues.

Pretty sure it's a felony to make a false statement on the license renewal form.
That's why they ask for your current address and WA DL# on the reneweal.
They started that after the Seattle Monorail expansion project when a lot of the people in Seattle started registering their vehicles out of the city to avoid paying the tax.

My truck tabs are practically doubling from $96 to $186. I'm not looking forward to seeing the # for my wife's car.

So everyone in the State is going to get to phony up for King County Transit.

Not quite. I'm in Bonney Lake and with the exception of the transit center at the top of 410, Bonney Lake hasn't had bus service for years, but I'm located in the tax zone.

Thankfully (for me) I live in the part of Snohomish County that isn't getting taxed.

Here's a thought for many who are getting it stuffed up their ass, since a good part of the Snohomish County portion of light rail won't make it here for up to 20 years, what happens if something happens to the entire Sound Transit plan like happened to the WIPP's nuclear power plants.

Wouldn't that be the shits if Sound Transit suddenly realizes that there won't be enough money to complete their grandiose plan and stop building because the taxpayers won't cough up more $$. All those years of paying taxes to complete the light rail system in King County.

Could happen and I predict a lot of pissed off taxpayers. Only way to insure that Snohomish County taxpayers get their money's worth is to have the funds quarantined by a Court to make sure that NONE of them go to King County project expenses. Like that will ever happen.

As for property tax, I got my annual 'anal reaming' letter in the mail last week. At least it wasn't enough more to cause the house payment to go up. Crap, even when I pay off the house the taxes and insurance will be as much as some make for a regular house payment.

Car tabs? I get the privilege of paying $150 per year just because I own a (mostly) electric vehicle. One part of the State Gov gave me a $3,200 tax credit just to encourage buying an environmentally friendly vehicle and another part of State Gov wants it back at the rate of $150/year. Interesting.

I could be wrong, but I rather doubt it would be a felony.

By the way, there is no need to actually fill out that form with address and DLN. Just cut a check and send it in---they will cash it. I have been doing this for years. No statement = No mis-statement, capice?

It's because you don't pay gas taxes...

They'll get their money out of you one way or another.
