When I worked at a TV shop in the 70's we used to burn the old console TV's and stereos at my bosses house. I'm sure a lot found their end that way.........just too big to keep around.
As far as old 70's stereo gear, I have a couple. SAE tuner-----Mark VIII Soundcraftsman amplifier-----5002 power amp Realistic direct drive turntable-----LAB-500 Tandberg cassette player-----TCD 340A Technics receiver------SA 956 Tandberg reel to reel 3 motor------Series 10XD Soundcraftsmen Preamp Equalizer-----PE2217 Advent Dolby cassette deck-------201 Sansui Stereo Receiver-----881 Vandersteen Speakers------Model 2 Advent Speakers-------Large Advent Cerwin Vega Speakers-----10" 3 way Had a pair of Speakerlab 7's my brother gave me as an anniversary present. Four years later he said he needed them back as they belonged to his buddy who just got out of prison. I have a 70's vintage Magnavox that my wife loved. I've hauled it around the country as we moved but the next move will be to the curb with a big "FREE" sign on it. SOB weighs 250-300 lbs.
