Amazed what a drop of 15 or so degrees and overcast can do to energy level at work.

Got my second dash cam today. Now both cars are covered. I'm beginning to believe WE ALL need this.

Serious though, the shop temp is still the same.....a breeze would work better. Any breeze will come from the north...my door faces south.

Yes, the pop up with the liner works well because it provides shade. The ones without a liner just filter the sun and actually makes it warmer underneath. They also sell fans at those same stores that sell the pop up covers. They provide a breeze on demand.

Got the license renewal in the mail .... Apparently the gvt hasn't included collectible cars in their new RT3 revenue grab. That would have sucked, Whew! BTW, it has personalized/special plates.

Received email notification today that EPA and CARB approved an emissions modification for Gen1 TDI diesel engines. Meaning my 2010 Jetta TDI now eligible for an emissions modification and compensation payout.
Not thrilled about having my car modified but definitely stoked about the $5200 compensation payment.
Summer road trip was more expensive than planned so will be nice to put most of it in savings and have a bit leftover for some reloading supplies, maybe a Walther PPQ I've been lusting after for some time now plus maybe some pistol training classes as my prior training is a bit stale now.
Exploring the Delta Blues repertoire including artists like Mississipi John Hurt, Lead Belly, Son House, Skip Taylor, and others.

Yeah it's pretty awesome discovering a whole new to me genre of music. Many artists I've never heard before stretching back to the 1930's. Pretty cool. I've been thinking about eventually doing the Mississippi Blues trail on a road trip with a side trip to New Orleans.

So, their "fix" is for it to get worse fuel economy and loose 30% of the power.....how can that be a good thing. It'll be interesting how much the car is "de-tuned". Keep us (me) informed.

Yeah I'm concerned about the loss of performance definitely. The low end torque is a huge selling point of the TDI engines. Reading through the VW documentation today they are estimating a loss of roughly 2 mpg. I've been getting about 40-42mpg in freeway driving so that loss is not too bad. Will do a bit more reading on the interwebs before scheduling the modification and will post a thread once the modification is completed, sometime in next couple weeks or month.
