A crane cop showed up on my jobsite today.

We went round and round for a while about how he can bust me for this or that, but I knew he had nothing.

I knew because we did this same song and dance three years ago.

When he introduced himself I replied with "Yea, WE'VE MET" and explained when and where.

True. And there isn't any lipstick gonna cover that hole up either!

I had a biz and worked on custom coaches, band busses, rich people that can afford a million dollar coach and $500k Porsche that would slide into the coach storage.
Every single one of them would brow beat, low ball, back stage tickets, I'll mail you a check etc. They could afford going rate, parts mark-up, road call/phone calls in the middle of the night, sometimes traveling hours to get a bus up an going again, all to have them look at the bill and negotiate!
I got fully frustrated after a few years and just gave up, feeling your pain.

that's how rich people get rich, haggle everything down and keep money in their pocket. Getting inside people's head to get them to say hey you know it wasn't that much work, yeah I'll cut you a deal...

Easy solution to the mechanic grinder.

Pick up tools, and start to take stuff apart again.

When they ask what is going on, tell them the longer they wait to pay you full price in cash, the more it is going to cost.

Why ? Because now you have extra time in undoing all your work they don't want to pay you for.

And, you charge by the minute for that stolen time.

And, you charge for storage by the hour to release vehicles, so they better hustle to get a tow truck to haul their junk somewhere else to get repaired.

Problem solved.

That's one reason I wouldn't do my own business. i'm too much of a soft touch, and would end up giving it all away. Some people like to ask me for the "buddy" discount, and i'm so easy, I give it to them :frust: :ROFLMAO: :thumbsup2:

Last few comments kinda hit close.

Customers that act cheap are asked to pay the original bill and leave...... AND I keep possession of the plane til I get paid. No exceptions.

The customers that pays..... stays.

The customer that complain or ask for special privileges.... leaves and don't come back. Or if they call, they are ignored, until they get the hint.

Air show performers are the worse. They actually think I should pay them, for the privileges of working on their (usually) Piece of Shit planes that have been duct taped, baling wired, and hammered back together.

One exception on the air show performers. Bob Hoover. One on the nicest man/pilot I'ved ever met. He was very good.

Who ever the hell tightened this rotor to the distributor so hard that I needed to make a breaker bar for an Allen wrench. Of course the bolt is soft too so naturally it stripped andi only have a few inches to work with. The easy out doesnt work because i cant get enough torque through it to grab and twist the bolt. Yayyyyy the fan, rad and grill get to come out!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of my clients owns several medium sized companies, plus over 200 commercial properties. Wouldn't be surprised if he was worth over a $Billion.
But paying an extra $20/mo for faster home internet, he had to think about that.
He doesn't mind paying, but wants a detailed cost/benefit analysis explanation before he writes the check.
Even for small dollar amounts other people making far less would find trivial.

Deciding between 2 health insurance policies. Higher deductible but all visits are included including hospital, or lower deductible with a percentage coinsurance per visit.......
Looking over the previous bills and EOB's.
Over $1,000 to lance a boil at the clinic, and $263 to give an injection into an existing IV. $5,000 a day to watch TV, talk on the phone, and eat shitty food. They probably charged me for the food and TV too.

Fucking ridiculous.
Almost like I'm paying for someone elses healthcare too......................

Must be BMW?

IIRC the allen socket head machine screw holding those to the shaft is like a 3.5 mm allen......which at the time I was working on Britshit I had to make. They strip immediately if you're using Amurican 1/8 allen that fits but not snugly.

AAAAAnd they also have a way of RIP. (rustinginplace)

Carefully...Snap the top of the rotor off so you can use something to clamp to the outside of the socket head cap screw.

Nice fresh set of small vice grips.

I've dealt with you before.....I must be SOME PEOPLE.

Your Buddy discount varies depending on whats in-coming new to you. Haggling sometimes takes 10 minutes, 3 texts (rangefinder), but IIRC the Limited took like 6 or more months. I remember a Detonics that forced a XD sale in like 2 blocks :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: and we were going 35+mph.

Lets just say, yeah you'd probably starve.

Yup bullshit motor weeks. I tried vise grips they just slip. Tommrow I'm going to borrow a pancake air tank since my compressor shit the bed and I'll hit it with a die grinder and make two flat spots on it, then hopefully I'll make that bolt my bitch

Parrot jaw pliers. Might be enough to do it. Almost always work better than vice grips
