Thanks to MadPick... and his so so easy to follow thread on how to apply for a C&R (curio and relic) FFL (Federal Firearms License) Type 03. I applied and in the spirit of Massivedesign's thread on his NFA item...

viewtopic.php?f=68&t=859

I downloaded and printed the application from above so easy to follow directions. (Man... you could of at least made it harder)

Way too easy! icon_super

Went to my bank and got a cashier check $30. Mailed out certified mail (for my own sake of tracking) to:
Original to ATF and copy to CLEO in Kent. patriot

Day 0: Monday, October 17 2011 :D
Day 1: made my book - printed out the forms for tracking transactions (Oct 18) :D
Day 3: Received Return Receipt from Kent PD (Oct 20)
Day 8: Received Return Receipt from ATF (Oct 25)
Day 14: waiting game continues
Day 17: Got it in the Mail!!!! (Nov 3)
Day 19: Got my official handbook C&R (Nov 5) from DoJ (See below for full packet info)

I sent mine on 10/6/11 and maybe 5 days later they billed my credit card. A good sign that they got my application. I'd be really pleased if the license comes within 4 weeks but expect it may be twice that long. I'm glad I finally made the commitment.

My Dad wants to get one of those. He wants to get Mausers sent to the door. He showed interest in those 8x56mmR Steyr 95 Stutzen Carbines.

I just filled out my application today, tossed in the mail for tomorrow's pick up. Totally pumped up on the concept - internet shopping made way less expensive compared to paying for an FFL dealer to do the deal, and collect tax. Whoo hoo!

Awesome, great to hear!

Don't forget to get your bound book going, and keep it legal and legit. It's easy to do.

Got my C&R license in yesterdays mail. Took an amazingly short amount of time, approx. 17 days. Is this a record?

DAMN! I dunno if that's a record, but if not it's pretty close!

So Doug, you need to start a new thread with a list of what you've bought already. Did you see that Polish P64 pistols are only $149.95 at J&G? :tiphat:
