FWIW : Fenix was already mentioned... My EDC light I always carry for several years now is Fenix PD36 TAC Tactical Flashlight. Compact. Adjustable 5 light levels up to 3000 lumen plus tactical strobe. Can be used as weapon light with sold separately rail mount and remote pressure plate. Rechargeable Li battery with built-in USB charger. $100. Sturdy metal construction. Soft belt holster included (meh, wears out) Easy to carry in the pocket with well-made included clip. Very happy with it... Love 5000mah rechargeable (19hr on 150 lumen settings), never worry about having extra batteries (even my car has USB outlets..) As my EDC kit also includes 45 cal IWB, I do love to have 2000 lumen tactical blinding/strobe option... :)

I have 2 (there's a surprise). 1 is on my Keychain. I use this 90% of the time... It's usually only for about 2-3 minutes at a time so I only need to recharge it once a month or sometimes every other month. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D4GYYBJMy pocket EDC ... I tried a button flashlight.. but locking it out every time I put it in my pocket, and then having to press a button sequence to unlock it, or risk driving down the road and feeling my leg on fire (it's happened), was a PITA. I needed something that couldn't accidentally be turned on, and still had a ton of power. So I got this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C9LNZTT4Right now it's $40 with a 30% coupon and add'l 10% off -- So, 40% off... or $24. It's been a solid performer and is brighter than most vehicle headlights. I've been transitioning all my devices to USB-C charging for the convenience factor.

I’ve had a 511 Rapid L2 for a long while, the clip popped of during the first month. It’s bright enough and always works so $40 well spent. The wife picked up 12) 123 batteries at Wally-World, $38!!! SOB!!! Going to look online next time for a better deal. FMR!!! Attachment: 692C4E78-7BEC-4390-A344-066559C2662D.jpeg

I carry the Fenix PD35 daily at work on the ship, been a reliable workhorse for years. I believe it is now discontinued unfortunately. Added bonus is it will run on 2 cr 132 batteries, OR 1 18650 rechargeable. I use the 18650, I salvage them from drill batteries that have suffered an untimely death due to saltwater.

I had the WaGuns Eagtac until it died. Rita still has the titanium one I scored for half price, but she rarely uses it. Since the Eagtac died, I've been using an OLight Baton 3 and I love it. I think the original battery is on its way out, it won't stay on super high power for more than a few seconds at a time, but will stay at the next level down long enough to take the dog out to do his business in the middle of the night. That's plenty bright enough even when the dog finds a dark corner in the yard.
I always bring extra CR 123 batteries for it when I travel, and then never use them, I'm able to keep on top of the charging with the magnetic charge cable.

Well, you fuckers got me running down the rabbit hole, and now I have a Nitecore EDC27 in my pocket. I've only owned it a few hours, but in general I'm impressed with the functionality. It's bigger than I expected it to be . . . still small enough to comfortably carry, but it certainly doesn't disappear in my pocket like my little Olight does.

Coincidentall, AllOutdoor just did an article on a flashlight and the article contains some links to new-for-2024 lights from other manufacturers too. https://www.alloutdoor.com/2024/03/30/a ... -mh12-pro/

The Nitecore MH12 is around $90 Turbo 3300 lumens for 30 min or 1200 lumens for 4.5 hrs.
One thing I would suggest you incorporate for a self defense light in regards to carrying a firearm is to actually deploy and hold a standard flashlight and handgun hold and then activating the light.
I know this model does have a tail light switch so just wanting to point out for other variations that may be out there. It might not be a big issue in the minds of many but I have never been called someone of many…. lol

Looks like the Olight Baton 3 Color has been discontinued.
1200 lumens for 75 min
Looks like the charger box are about $36. Charges 3.7 times.
Has 0.5 lumen mode that last for 20 days but the premium can go for 94 days? But I think that’s with the charger box.

Just picked this one up since my EDC flashlight has turned into my phone. And my 2D Maglite is over 25 years old. Also picked up a 3 pack of these for around the house since my eyes have a harder time seeing in the dark lately. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BDGD8KRYep, this forum keeps costing me more and more monies.
