...and that point occurs at delivery to the airline- whose responsibility for airworthiness is federally mandated. Once the aircraft is added to the air carrier's Operations Specification (D085), it is their baby.

This occurrence, and many others, are not the fault of Boeing or the design. It is on the airline or operator.

FAA investigating after Boeing engineer claims that sections of 787 Dreamliner fuselage are improperly fastened together and could break apart mid-flight.
Boeing admits to fuselage issue, then tells passengers to relax.
