Well the FBI is concerned since in the past the FAA and Boeing have been kissing cousins when it comes to getting airframes approved for flight, and Now the whistleblower's self deletion has come into serious question. Conspiracies like this are felonies worthy of a Grand Jury. On top of that, for the first time in a long time, people in the US are starting to say they are afraid to fly. The US air industry has enjoyed a very successful safety record for a really long time and it's really not a stretch to say despite the efforts of Boeing's management to seriously screw that up a lot of people in the industry have become complacent. And I tell every guy I work with in the shop complacency kills.

I tried to say this earlier, that many of the mishaps were airline-related, not Boeing.

But some wanted to argue.

There is an old truism at Boeing regarding the Third Person. The first guy is canned for screwing up. The second person starts to right the ship, but the big bosses lose patience and he is out. The third person benefits from the second person’s work, and is the hero. Always try to be the third person.
