Still can own/use firearms in NZ, even as a non-resident. I've got my paperwork for a firearms license ready to file once I have settled in. No CC or right to self defense (except under very rigid circumstances), but there are plenty of ranges and many hunting opportunities.

Just saw this on the news. The report tonight said that he had a single 25mm round Man arrested, military-style explosive found in Irvine homeQuote: Officers say they found multiple long guns, multiple handguns, and ammunition in the home. They say they also found enough explosives to level his home and likely some of the surrounding homes.
The police says he contacted the ATF. They sent the ATF bomb tech a photo of the device who told officers not to touch it and said he was on his way. I mean, if a .45 can blow your arm clean off I guess a 25mm round could level a house and the ones around it

Corbin, KY. Home of the Harland Sanders Cafe and Museum... Corbin police return pig home after picking it up on Bacon Creek RoadQuote: Corbin Police Officers have wrangled a small pig on Bacon Creek Rd in Corbin. No, we are not talking about patrolman Chris Brown (or any of our other fine second shift patrol officers), but a legit pig. Seriously, if you own this pig. He is in custody at the Corbin Police Department. Please hurry before the Corbin Fire Department gets hungry.

Thanks for posting that
Even though we have in person voting it still doesn't seem all that secure. We fill out a ballot scantron style, but then feed it into a machine that doesn't do anything more than signal that a ballot was cast [patriotic flag and fireworks.gif]. The ballot doesn't have a serial number that I can track or verify, just like WA. Poll watchers sit at a table right next to the machine but have no idea what's going on inside of it
If it counts for anything I filled out the ballot individually, not straight party. All [R] except for the [D] county clerk who does a really good job
One other thing I noticed was the percentage split for the governor's race was exactly the same for Fayette and Jefferson counties the entire time I was watching results on the state website. Fayette and Jefferson are Lexington and Louisville, the two major cities in the state and where the majority of voters are. Either the voters of both cities are extremely consistent through all the different precincts or something else was keeping those percentages exactly the same over several hours
