See story here: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/04/26/us-murders-concentrated-in-5-percent-counties.htmlI knew from experience that this was likely true but not to this extent. Also, I would be able to draw some obvious conclusions about the make up of said parts of those counties as well. But then if I came out an pointed out the elephant in the room I would be called a racist. I guess gone are the days where homicide was something rare. Here's a most telling point: Quote: More than half of last year’s murders occurred in only 2 percent of the nation’s counties. Quote: One of the most interesting findings in the report is that areas with the highest gun ownership rates have low murder rates.

The really sad part is that these murder-heavy counties all blame the counties next door for their problems. For goodness sake, don't actually DO anything about it, just blame the neighbor and then wonder why you live in such a shithole. But there's an upside for the rest of us. At least we know where not to go on vacation.

That elephant has always been called 'The bad part of town'. And seem to be more prominent within Democrat controlled cities.

This is the kind of information that I would appreciate seeing being discussed from the POTUS. It is so very clear that gun control does not work, and that what we actually have is a crime problem, not a gun problem. The previous 8 years of POTUS talked about a gun problem.... Please President Trump, use your bully pulpit to present facts and explain them, not emotional pleas for We the People to surrender our Natural Rights in exchange for false promises of more safety.

The last data I can find on murderers who had prior convictions was published by DOJ in 2006, which at the time was a whopping 67% of murderers. Feel free to point me to any recent numbers but it seemed odd that when the dems took power those stats suddenly stopped being easily available...

Considering firearm ownership per capita is signifcantly higher in rural areas.... rural areas are usually a tighter knit community and crime is low. I think it has more to do with rural upbringing, morals, community, etc.
I don't think everyone carrying in an urban setting will eliminate crime....reduce, absolutely, but not to the level of rural areas.
