You are SO right!

That is SO much an excuse for her not being subject to the laws in the same way as the rest of us!

She made a Secret Service visit triggering statement. Secret Service is visiting. So far she's not being treated any different. And a lot of these off the cuff statements don't end in criminal charges, regardless of who makes them.

I could care less whether or not she goes to jail, I was just stating the facts.

Regardless, privilege and celebrity are dealt with far differently than the rest of us. I had an employee that made an "off the cuff" statement that was far more benign than what Madonna is accused of making. For the next three years I had to wait an extra day or two for him to travel to jobs because they put his ass on a no-fly list. He had to drive everywhere I needed him.

He finally got off the list after "higher up's" determined that he shouldn't have been put on it in the first place. Just a case of an airline employee showing their "authority" (but also total lack of intelligence).

You can be assured that any "celebrity" would have never been treated the same.

I'll stop challenging the current truth. Sorry. A lot of bullshit like this seems to trigger a visit from the USS and then it's done. We can see that over the last 8 years with people saying stupid shit about Obama, getting visited and then not much else happening.

well, she "clarified" things...

ya'll took it "out of context", mkay? :shush:

Quote:
Yesterday's Rally. was an amazing and beautiful experience. I came and performed Express Yourself and thats exactly what i did. However I want to clarify some very important things. I am not a violent person, I do not promote violence and it's important people hear and understand my speech in it's entirety rather than one phrase taken wildly out of context. My speech began with " I want to start a revolution of love." ♥️ I then go on to take this opportunity to encourage women and all marginalized people to not fall into despair but rather to come together and use it as a starting point for unity and to create positive change in the world. I spoke in metaphor and I shared two ways of looking at things — one was to be hopeful, and one was to feel anger and outrage, which I have personally felt. However, I know that acting out of anger doesn’t solve anything. And the only way to change things for the better is to do it with love. It was truly an honor to be part of an audience chanting “we choose love”.

"Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm -- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves." – T.S. Eliot

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker

A careful definition of words would destroy half the agenda of the political left and scrutinizing evidence would destroy the other half. - Thomas Sowell

"To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow...

For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding." - Jeff Snyder

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

So, if whatever I say that starts out with, "With all due respect...", that should let me off the hook, right?

If the Secret Service investigates and clears her, she's not being treated any different than any of the other idiots who "threaten" the President.

Auburn is where you live if you can't afford to live in Kent.

'No fly' lists. A great example of bipartisan democracy in action. About the only thing the two parties can agree on is unilaterally stripping people of the ability to travel using a secret list with no due process protections. I'm sure the Founding Fathers would be real proud of that achievement.

It's almost as brilliant an achievement as warrantless domestic surveillance. I wonder if the NSA stocks their bathrooms with toilet paper embossed with the Bill of Rights.
