Deals been hammered out, still has to be approved, but the new regs are out.
Salmon fishing on the Puke is cancelled this year...... 15 day season on the Carbon? That'll be a cluster like no one has ever seen....

That's for everyone right? Natives and non natives? Because if the tribes think they are doing this in the name of conservation then they need to keep their rods out of the water too.

Doubt natives are going to slow down whatsoever.
Hell, during all the negotiating, they've been dragging nets left, right, up, down an all around.
Something tells me that this is a slow start to a process that will greatly limit non native fishing, to downright stoppage on select rivers and sound areas down the road. While I hope it doesn't go that route, and if you've followed the ever continuing limitations in the past 15 years, it is a slow withdrawal of non native rights.

Well I guess the next step will be to look up the definition of what Washington considers to be "Washington Native." The reason I mention this is a few decades ago Montana had to thin out their buffalo population. The state was going to kill off X amount of buffalo and the meat could then be harvested by "Native Montanan's." The state didn't clearly define what "Native Montanan" was and a number of Montana born white guys showed up too. F&G/State gave the green light, despite the uproar it created by the tribes. I wonder if you were born in Washington if that would make you a Washington Native.

If anything else perhaps people who want to fish need to start identifying as a member of the tribe.

Rods?? They don't use rods, they use Gill Nets, which kill indiscriminately.

If I "Feel/Identify" as a Washington Native that should give me the right to fish if I use the same logic the Obummer administration uses for bathrooms....

I should request a refund for my saltwater fishing license. Never would have bought it if I had known the season would be canceled.

Look up the Skagit. Havent had Steelhead in years. Cant fish for anything this year. Dont get me wrong, I like the river, but it sure isnt that nice to just look at and not fish.

If I was less principled, I'd be one of the guys you are all bitching about. I can register and have native hunting/fishing "rights", but I have never been able to bring myself to do it.

I've always wondered how much fish the Indians waste or let go to shit.
