Maybe they want to get as many people 'on the list' as quickly as possible? Silencer or not you are already on the list. This is much different from the registering a brace list.

I took this screen shot this morning from a FB group. Fourty two days for a trust is encouraging. I almost wish it had been a new trust vs one he had already used.

They could have been doing it this fast all along. They are only speeding it up now out of fear the post-Bruen SCOTUS will make clear to everyone how unnecessary they truly are.

Or it's to 'register' as many gun owners as they can (in their de facto registry) so they can be declared to be dangerous NFA item holders for when the new ERPO/Red Flag laws go into effect.

There are others I'm just not sold on the 3d printed guts of them. Might as well start the wait for at least one. All of mine are Trusts and I don't want to pay the extra 200 to get it earlier.

Gotcha. On a different note, the ATF has also trimmed the Form 3 approval time down to one or two days. For a while, Form 4 was quicker than a Form 3. I like the way the trend is going. I do think 166 day (current form 4 trust times) is way better than the 400+ day wait of the first NFA item I bought in WA state.

I wonder if the 24 month exemption helps speed up trust submissions. I really want that new Rugged Surge X, but not going to file individual. Not sure I'm ready to drop that cash yet either, but I do wonder when trusts will be quick.
