Some sci fi stand ins for every fantasy trope you can think of, people waving magic energy weapons around because magical space magic shit, giant space battles that violate every law of physics as we know it, more space woojie, space crime, space war, and space fantasy.
It's like the Lord of the Rings in space.

It's like the Lord of the Rings in space. Cool, I just saved $10. Now I don't need to see it.

Add lots of PG13 violence. Massive heapings of Political Correctness and representations of every possible ethnic and sex and transgender group possible. Really annoying space creatures (like Jar Jar Binks). Overwhelming CGI that makes you roll your eyes at the disbelief of defying physics, gravity, and any other natural laws imaginable. And a sprinkle of desperate nods to past film fans. As much as I love Han Solo and Chewy, the galaxy likely does not revolve around their characters.
Subtract everything representing the creativity, novelty, or story telling like the original episodes IV and V.
The series was "jumped the shark" with the Ewoks of Episode VII and continued the absurdity and ruin with the CGI disasters and silliness of I, II, and I didn't even bother seeing III.

It's like the Lord of the Rings in space. Cool, I just saved $10. Now I don't need to see it. Needs more photon torpedoes and blue wooden boxes. Actually that is a mashup I'd pay to see.
