so on this thread here viewtopic.php?f=33&t=54572 silvermane thought female site members (not supporters) got to be pink. I understand the different colors (red, orange, blue, pink), but is there a way to differentiate the women on the forum before they become site supporters? Sometimes the name is obvious and sometime not. If we (collectively as a shooting community, not just WGO) are trying to bring more women into the sport, would it make sense that at a glance you know a thread reply was from a woman and you might want to be less....um vulgar? I know a lot of women can dish it out too, but for the Soccor mom who just picked up a .380, it may seem to be just a good ol' boys club. If it is feasible and Steve and Dan have not already squashed the same idea I just don't know about, I'd be interest to see what other think of the idea.

I understand and appreciate the sentiment behind that. However, I think that some of the ladies won't always want us to know that they're ladies, so we should give them that option. The other "problem," if you will, is that we generally don't have any way to know whether someone is male or female. I suspect that we assume that most people on here are male . . . but are they? Has anyone ever seen Ops in person? This is why when a woman becomes a site supporter, it is her choice whether to have a pink username or not. If she wants to be orange like the other site supporters, that's cool too.

Picture 1: If that was Ops, his dance card would be waaaay too full to spend time on here. Picture 2: A pox on you for posting that! I vote for letting members remain genderless unless they choose otherwise. I almost didn't go pink, only because I was concerned that other members (who are mostly men, let's be pragmatic here) might modify their behavior as a result. There's nothing more boring than a place that's overcome by political correctness. It's also why I've never joined the NSFW section. The guys should have at least one spot where they don't have to worry about a skirt walking through the door and ruining their fun.

I don't think anyone could say it better than mislabeled did, +1 to her sentiment.
On the subject of mislabeled. From what I gather this gal can whoop your ass, call you an idiot and rebuild your transmission in the time it takes you to phrase a witty comeback. So as far as acting different around her...well...carry on gentlemen.

I can change out shifters and put a CAI on instead of a stock air system, but I don't like to mess up my manicure.
