There are a few coding changes and mods we are looking at that may resolve some of that. The problem is how custom coded the site is.. I have dicked with it so much that there is no more "plug-n-play".. I'll bring this back to a needed thing though. gscott wrote: The only feature I see elsewhere that I miss is the "hover over the thread subject and a little window pops up that shows the first words of the post" feature. This because it's hard to know exactly what the thread is about, and I am just too damn busy to click a couple extra times. Haha. It's a nice feature but I have no idea how and why it works like that in some forums and not others. Yhea, MadPick has been hot n heavy for that too.. And we had it installed for about 30 seconds before it fuckered up the site.. I'll look to see if there some updated code.

a lot of the thread titles are just trying to get clicks....like the one about the WAGuns pizza. Reminds me of all those ones on the internet with titles like: "You'll never believe what happened when boring suburban guy turned the keys to his ignition" or "She was shocked to find out what happened when her lip balm came up empty"

I agree, vague post title irk me a little.

AFRCOM is a disaster...as I understand it, it gets marginally better if you pay for a membership (avatar, profile enhancements, chat rooms, you know stuff that doesn't matter). Deals like that make me think of TOS. With that said, the owners of ARFCOM make some serious cash...lots of ad revenue from that sucker. I think I saw an article that said something like $10 million in revenue. EDIT: ARFCOM is worth $18 million - http://www.worthofweb.com/website-value/ar15.com but it seems they are only pulling in $550 per day in ad revenue.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk WaGuns? I think ads for lawyers who set up trusts, guys who will help you finish building your AR or AK, or advice on, uh, family planning would be the best advertisers on here.

Per day: http://www.websitelooker.net/search.php?site=ar15.comQuote: Visits per day: 182,921 Daily Ads Revenue: $549.95 Creation Date: 1997-03-28 But I found a thread from 2003 where this guy breaks down all of the different forms of income that the site generates - they were pulling in outrageous amounts of money when the site was only 6 years old...in addition to the ad revenue, they had sponsors who pay for big banners and all this other stuff that was thousands of dollars per month - so, it's got to be way more than that now. I suspect with a site valuation of $18 million they have to be generating more than just the $200,000 per year in ad revenue.

Plus they have a pretty serious retail store now too.
Our $ Per day figure doesn't include the banners. That # I put out was just for the google ad sense ads. And yesterday ended at $0.51
