This roughed-out, pistol-grip rifle stock is at least 45 years old. I believe that it is for a 1903 or similar action, but I really don't know for certain. I'm no wood expert, but it appears to me to be walnut. It also has a roughed-out cheek-rest. Here's a few pics: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v18/R ... e%20Stock/All of the following measurements are approximate to within 1/16". The relief in the bottom of the stock is 8-1/2" long and the distance between the holes for the action screws is 7-3/4". The length of the magazine well is 3-5/8" and the width of the magazine well tapers from 15/16" at the front to 1-1/16" at the rear. The relief in the top of the stock is 8-1/2" long and roughly 1-3/16" wide. The barrel channel appears to be for a 5/8" OD non-tapered barrel. It has a Bishop recoil pad installed. The overall length of the wood itself is 32-5/8"; it is 33-1/8" with the recoil pad. I guess that the length of pull would be approximately 13-1/4". This is a wide stock. The width of the butt is 1-7/8". The width of the receiver area is about 2-1/4" increasing to about 2-7/16" at the front of the stock. Background if you care: I believe that this stock was - many years ago - intended to be a candidate for when my older brother planned to "sporterize" my father's 1925 Springfield 1903. Fortunately, my brother never got around to completing that endeavor and I later inherited my father's pristine 1903. This stock was stored in a moderately-heated basement from ~1964 until 2003 when I transferred it to my comfortably-heated living space. It appears to be in good condition, but I have no need for it. I hope that someone can use it. Simply reply with "I'm in" or something similar. Entrance for this PIF ends at 1635 hours on 04APR2012 after which time I will select the winner using random.org. I don't want to ship this stock, so please be prepared to pick it up in the Redmond/Kirkland/Woodinville/Bellevue area, preferably Rose Hill.
